The Type 99 Tank is a third generation Chinese Main Battle Tank (MBT).

The Type 99 Tank is the main battle tank (MBT) of China. Produced in 2000 by Norinco, this tank entered service in 2001 with Western and Russian influence to its design. This tank is an upgrade to the previous Type 98 MBT. Its turret is a wedge-shaped modular add-on explosive reactive armor. Type 99 is also equipped with a 125mm smoothbore gun bundled with Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) capability. It runs at native speed of 80 kilometers per hour, an operational range of 500 kilometers and powered by a 1500 shp diesel engine.
